Golden hues of Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer - The Golden City Or as i would like to call  "Poetry in Stone".
There is probably no corner or place in the town which may not be telling you a piece of tale ..If there is one place that should be on each one's bucket list - Jaisalmer it is - it truly deserves all the attention. Yesteryear's grandeur , astounding precision and the mysticism of Golden sandstone.
Built in the 12th century, the golden Fort lit by the morning rays.
This was our first look of the fort first thing in the morning . The massive structure standing tall, overseeing the entire city.
At the Jain Temple inside the Fort Complex . The temple has some of the most exquisite carvings . The base of the pillars which are part of the temple complex , built in the 15th century.
I spent the early part of the morning at this temple which in itself is a cluster of 7 temples. I could have spent days in Jaisalmer only gazing at the mind boggling precision and the unmatched beauty in stone created centuries ago by the artisans then.
Jaisalmer in entirety is a piece of art . Patwon ki Haveli (above) showcases one of the most intricate artwork. The 5 separate havelis were built over a period of 60 years!

Circa 12th -15th century , in the middle of a desert a town rose from these massively heavy sandstones brought in from nearby places or afar, with the help of elephants or some other mode of transport available in those days. This took days and weeks to reach the destination and years to transform the blocks of stones to a piece of marvel !
Another Temple interiors .
Jaisalmer is to be experienced in person. The sights are too captivating to be represented in any form.
